What is Raila Odinga championing?

The 2022 elections are over and the country witnessed stunning competitive elections. Dr. William Ruto was constitutionally declared victorious by IEBC.

Just to take you back to history. After every election that Raila Odinga has been a key presidential candidate and lost, he has never conceded.

According to the ODM patron, his primary objective for organizing the ongoing ‘maandamano’ is to ease the raising tough living standards of Kenyans. At the moment, A big percentage of Kenyans cannot afford the basics of life.

The conspiracy of all these things lies back to the past regime. According to President Ruto, there is nothing special about those allegations purported by the ODM leader. Life has been tougher even during the past regime.
For instance, during Uhuru’s regime, the cost Unga was over Kshs. 230 per 1kg packet. There were no organized demonstrations against those prices.

President Ruto has recently lowered the cost of Unga from over Kshs. 200 to between Kshs 170-190 for the past 2 weeks. According to the opposition, that is not enough.
Probably, Raila Odinga’s objective is not championing the rights of Kenyas but a hidden agenda that no one knows.

Why political ‘bad manners’?

Every Kenyan knows Raila Amolog Odinga and his career in politics.

The events of every election are evident that Kenya has not had peace. It has been running up and down in the streets between Raila’s supporters and the police.

African leaders have had to go through a lot of struggles for them to get global recognition.

Is it really a peaceful demonstration?

This is a mental game! Raila Odinga has never organized peaceful demonstrations in Kenya. Although the intention is to ensure peaceful demonstrations, his followers take that as an advantage to cause property damage and looting.

Police enforcing law and order!

From the results of the last demonstrations held on Monday, March 20th, 2023, it can be concluded that the demonstrations organized by the opposition were not peaceful. That is probably the reason why the Inspector General of the police banned all the preceding demonstrations and termed them illegal and unlawful.

What is the fate of these demonstrations?

We are not sure what will happen if the government will remain adamant on the demands laid out by the opposition.

Maybe Raila Odinga needs to adopt a new strategy on how to engage the government. To clean up his new name, Raila needs to engage the right stakeholders for a better future as his followers expect.
