Tusker defeated KCB FC on Saturday 29th April 2023 to reach the Mozzart Bet Cup semi-final.
The Brewers are now the semi-finalists after a comfortable win against KCB FC at Police Sacco stadium.
KCB showed a great game in the first half but The Brewers’ goalkeeper, Bwire, made a great save to deny KCB striker, Masika to put the ball back of the net who had made a daunting run into the box in the 30th minute.
It was square for both teams at the first half break. After both teams showed brilliant attacking skills they were not able to score at first since both teams ‘ had a solid defense.
In the second half, Robert Matano’s boys showed why they were supposed to win the game to move to the next level of the competition. They had a fabulous display in the second half even if The Bankers attacked in a dangerous way.

Tusker Defending their win
Bwire had a lot of work to do in the second half, he made another brilliant save to deny KCB from having an opening goal of the game. The Bankers tried hard to break through Tusker’s defense but the Brewers’ solid defense with the help of their fantastic goalkeeper didn’t give any chance for KCB strikers from scoring.
In the 67th minute, Mike picked the ball on the right side of the field and sent Odoyo through on goal in the box. The Brewers ‘ midfielder made no mistake with a scorching shot into the net. Odoyo gave his team a lead just twenty-two minutes after the second half.
The Bankers showed that they were still the best team to beat Tusker but Bwire stopped them with tremendous saves which kept the Tusker’s hope to reach the semifinals alive. KCB’s efforts didn’t bear any fruits.
At 83 minutes, Hum won the ball on the right, slashed a low cross into the area and Ojok ‘Papa Faza’ doubled the lead with a sweetly taken goal.

Robert Matano, the head coach of Tusker praised his boys for showing a brilliant play and the way they controlled the play of KCB in all the areas in the field.
In other games which were played on Saturday, Sofapaka was eliminated from the competition by stars on penalties shot out after a draw of 1-1 in full time.
Ulinzi got their lead in the 38th minute through their striker Boniface Muchiti, it was equalized by Adis four minutes after Ulinzi scored their goal. It was a draw at the first half break.
In the second half, both teams feared each other and did want more goals. After 90 minutes and the added minutes both teams headed to penalties to decide the winner who was to proceed to the semi-finals of the Mozzart Bet Cup.
Ulinzi Stars scored all their five penalties but Sofapaka ‘s Okola missed the last penalty with gave Ulinzi Stars a ticket to the semi-finals.
Now Ulinzi stars have joined Tusker Football Club in the list of semi-finalists as they wait for the other two teams to complete the list tomorrow.
On Sunday Kakamega home boyz will face the slums team, Kariobangi Sharks at MISC Kasarani from 1 pm. Both teams are in good form this season and they will try their best to win but only one team will qualify for the semi-finals.
After a shameful defeat by Police FC at home ground, Bandari will try to rise their team name again when they will take on AFC Leopards at MISC KASARANI from 3.15 pm on Sunday 30th April 2023.
After Sunday’s games, those teams could have qualified will know their opponents whom they will play against in the Semi-finals of the Mozart bet cup.
