The Autopsy Of Bodies Exhumed From Shakahola Begins

The postmortem examination (Autopsy) of 110 bodies exhumed from Shakahola farms in Kilifi is set to begin today, May 1, at Malindi Sub-county Hospital.

The Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki has visited Kilifi to oversee the exercise and also condole with the families who have lost their loved ones. The autopsy process is to be conducted by a team of experts led by government chief pathologist Johansen Oduor.

The Interior CS delivered a speech while at the hospital in Kilifi County promising a transparent process in ascertaining if the bodies have missing organs. He spoke while addressing journalists, and also said that if the postmortem results on whether there are missing organs will be announced to the world.

The Autopsy is Set To Ascertain If Bodies Have Missing Organs

If any of our people have their organs missing we will tell the world. There is nothing we are hiding. That is the truth.
We will find out why the organs are missing, who took them, and where they were taken.”

KKindiki said.

The CS also said that the transfers of security officers who were in office until the crime was part of his ministry’s plan in investigating the massacre executed by Paul Mackenzie.

It is an administrative measure to ensure that there is no one who was in office until the crime was committed is there. We will move up the ladder and in case we find any other person who ought to have taken some action and they did not, we will tell them to step aside.”

The CS added.

He also assured Kenyans that the commission will investigate inquiries and make recommendations to see all the people who took part in the saga or rather aided, and action taken on them.

Other than establishing how these circumstances came into place, the commission will investigate, inquire and make recommendations on action that must be taken on any public officer who aided Mackenzie.”

Professor Kithure Kindiki condoled the families who lost their loved ones in the Shakahola forest massacre and promised that not another day will such a horrendous crime happen again in our land.

Nothing of this nature will ever happen in our country again. Never again will we have the nature of these horrendous crimes on our soil.”

He remarked.

President William Ruto on Sunday, April 30, revealed that the government would form a task force to investigate Mackenzie’s cult that led to the death of over 109 0f his followers.

I will consult all religious leaders in the country to have a task force to weed out the characters who want to abuse religion or to run businesses and do things that are anti-religion in Kenya.”

The President made it clear.
