John F Kennedy and Abraham Lincoln’s Lives is one for History books. Their lives and untimely deaths are one spectacular event. The similarities between these two leaders are quite amazing, despite their close to a century-long time gap.

The unusual parallels between John F. Kennedy’s and Abraham Lincoln’s lives and deaths are now frequently brought up whenever weird fact fans congregate. We’ll look at a few of the fascinating coincidences that have intrigued both historians and conspiracy theorists in this blog post.

Both married in their 30s to women who were in their 20s

Lincoln was married on November 4, 1842, at 33 years old. Lincoln’s bride, Mary Anne Todd, was born on December 13, 1818, making her 23 years old at the time of the wedding.

Kennedy was married on September 12, 1953. Kennedy was born on May 29, 1917, at 36 years. Kennedy’s bride, Jacqueline Bouvier, was born on July 28, 1929, making her 24 years old at the time of the wedding.

Both were elected to Congress in ‘46

Abraham Lincoln was elected to Congress in 1846. John F. Kennedy was elected to Congress in 1946

Presidential Terms: Both entered the White House in ’61.

Lincoln took office in 1861 and Kennedy took office in 1961, with the election of Lincoln and Kennedy taking place exactly 100 years apart. Abraham Lincoln was elected President in 1860. John F. Kennedy was elected President in 1960.

Successors: Both were succeeded by Southerners named Johnson

Lincoln and Kennedy were succeeded by their vice presidents. It’s unsurprising their VPs were Southern since Lincoln and Kennedy were both Northerners.

Andrew Johnson succeeded Lincoln and Lyndon B. Johnson succeeded Kennedy as the two Johnsons served as their vice presidents.

Both vice presidents were born 100 years apart

Andrew Johnson, who succeeded Lincoln, was born in 1808 … Lyndon Johnson, who succeeded Kennedy, was born in 1908.

Similarities in Names and Initials.

Their names are a further odd coincidence. John F. Kennedy and Abraham Lincoln both have seven letters in their names. Additionally, Hannibal Hamlin served as Lincoln’s vice president and Lyndon B. Johnson served as Kennedy’s vice president; both of their last names contain six letters.

John Wilkes Booth and Lee Harvey Oswald, their murderers, each had surnames of 15 letters. John Wilkes assassinated Abraham Lincoln while Lee Oswald assassinated John F Kennedy.

Both Presidents were shot on a Friday

Lincoln was shot on Good Friday, April 14, 1865, and passed away on April 15 and Kennedy was shot on Friday, November 22, 1963, and passed on the same day.

Similarities in their Assassinations.

Kennedy was killed in a Lincoln car, a Ford model, in Dallas, Texas, Lincoln was assassinated in Ford’s Theatre in Washington, D.C.

Both President John F Kennedy and Abraham Lincoln were shot in the head

Both presidents were seated when they were shot in the head.

Both were particularly concerned with civil rights

Lincoln and Kennedy both supported social justice and civil rights. The Emancipation Proclamation, which proclaimed the end of slavery in the United States, is a document that Lincoln is renowned for having issued. In a similar vein, Kennedy’s administration significantly contributed to the advancement of civil rights legislation, which culminated in the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

12. Both wives lost a child while living in the White House

Willie Lincoln died in 1862, at age 11, presumably from typhoid fever. Patrick Bouvier Kennedy died in 1963, two days after he was born prematurely.
