President William Ruto, on Saturday 29, delivered a message to the newly appointed Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Gen Francis Ogolla asking him to express utter integrity and professionalism while delivering his service to the nation.
The President spoke while presiding over the swearing in of high rank military officials appointed on Friday, April 28.

It is my expectation that the professional standards of the Kenya Defence Forces will be observed and under your leadership.”
Expressed President William Ruto.
The head of state asked Gen. Francis Ogolla to maintain the tradition of Kenya’s that has always been professional to the entire region and globe.
Kenya has a tradition of a military that is professional, that is outstanding, that has integrity and that serves not just the people of Kenya, but our region and the globe.”
Ruto said.
President Ruto further stated that he had high expectations that the military team led by Gen. Francis Ogolla will be of service to the people of Kenya without being bias or leading on favouritism in terms of ethnicity.

It is my expectation and that of the government of Kenya that we shall continue to see a military that serves the people of Kenya, and we do not expect to see ethnicity, bias or any other consideration apart from professionalism.”

The head of state also expressed his confidence in the leadership of Francis Ogolla, as he understood the role of military in nation-building. He also promised to give the new Chief of Defence Forces maximum cooperation and support for him to lead him to lead Kenyan soldiers in protecting the integrity of Kenya’s borders.
The president also spoke on the reasons why he appointed Francis Ogolla, citing that he reviewed his military and his background and satisfied with his merit in the office.
In considering your appointment – I reviewed your background, journey in the military and where you have come from, and I am satisfied that you merit the office. You have my confidence that of the Republic of Kenya to discharge your mandate as the Chief of Defence Forces.”
Ruto assured General Ogolla.
Francis Ogolla replaced his boss and former Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) General Robert Kibochi, who retired after serving the country for over 44 years in various ranks and files. Prior to his promotion and appointment on Friday, April 28, Ogolla was the Vice CDF, a position he held for more than four years.
