Gor Mahia seized the top spot on Saturday after they defeated Kenya Police FC 1-0. Austin Odhiambo scored the only goal in that match to give his team an away win.
Gor Mahia is now 2- points ahead of of their competitor Tusker FC who lost their game against Nzoia Sugar FC early today.
Nzoia Sugar Fc edged Tusker FC 1-0 after a brilliant display at Sudi Stadium, Bungoma County. The last year’s season champions, Tusker, suffered their first defeat in 15 matches.
The Brewers’ last defeat was in February and had been on a six-match winning strike before it was crumbled at Nzoia who have now thrown themselves back in the title race.
Nzoia scored the only winning goal in the first half through James Kibande’s penalty which was awarded to the home team after Hassan Beja was fouled inside the box.
Will it be Tusker or Gor?
The Brewers began the day as the league leaders but dropped to the second position after Gor Mahia won 1-0 at Kenya Police FC.
Nzoia Sugar did extremely well to hold on to their victory, repulsing the Brewers’ attempt with some solid defending in the whole results. Now after that results, Robert Matano’s men stayed on 54 points, allowing Gor to overtake them with an advantage of 2 points as the new league leaders.

On other results, Bandari FC was held by Talanta with a draw of 1-1 at home in Mbaraki stadium. Talanta scored the first goal 20 minutes after the first half but Bandari equalized in the 78th minute with a brilliant strike from Enoch Machaka.

Mathare United suffered another defeat against Posta Rangers 2-0, Sofapaka was dismantled by Bidco United 3-0 while Wazito FC collected a win against Ulinzi Stars FC 1-0.
Nairobi City stars suffered a defeat at the hands of Kariobangi Sharks 1-2. The match between the relegation-threatened Vihiga Bullets and Kakamega Homeboyz was postponed.
KCB will move to position four tomorrow and level points with Nzoia Sugar if they will beat AFC Leopards.
